What is a LIFE COACH?
A Life Coach is someone who specially trained to assist people with issues that they are dealing with in life. Often times, they have specialized degrees in Education, Business, Psychology, Communication, Counseling, etc. as well as training in providing one-on-one guidance and coaching techniques. A Life Coach is also one who has a personal desire to see individuals achieve the goals and quality of life that they seek. They will focus on helping you gain clarity about what you really want in life, to set goals, and to develop multiple means to reach your goals. They will often work with individuals in either a group setting or one-on-one to assist them which is considered a coaching session. Because each individual that a Life Coach assists is unique, coaching is tailored to the needs of the individual being coached.
Why would I need a LIFE COACH?
Often people who use a life coach are very successful individuals who desire to improve themselves more. Others who choose to use a Life Coach are seeking assistance with a particular area in their life that they know needs balance. This could be issues with work, family, money, or future goals. Whatever the need, a person who finds value in a Life Coach is someone who is willing to share what is going on in their thoughts and their lives as well as someone willing to hear honest feedback and make positive changes. People who do not like feedback or to be asked questions often choose not to use a Life Coach.
What if I don’t know what I need?
That’s fine and actually is not that unusual. What we find is that after talking with an individual for about an hour and asking a few questions, that person is able to put a finger on what they want to accomplish and whether or not we can help them.
Do you have any special degrees or training for this?
Yes. Each life coach is different and often has one or more specialized degrees in Education, Business, Psychology, Communication, Counseling, etc. We also have attended specialized training in providing one-on-one guidance as well as coaching techniques. Because we are constantly looking for ways to help our clients, we attend conferences, local trainings, Internet-based training, and read to keep ourselves abreast of the latest information. A TRUE Life Coach is one who never stops learning and wants to constantly make themselves a better resource for their client.
How long do I need a LIFE COACH?
Each individual is different. It depends on what your goals are and the amount of assistance you need in achieving them. A TRUE Life Coach will never dictate how long you need them but will let the individual determine this. Many individuals who use Life Coaches will change coaches as years go by because a particular Life Coach may be able to better assist them.
How much does a LIFE COACH cost?
It depends on the type of sessions (group vs. one-to-one) as well as how long the individual foresees needing the Life Coach. Most Life Coaches will work with the client to find a way to provide them the assistance without causing additional financial stress.
